Cabo San Lucas and its neighboring city San Jose del Cabo are at the southern end of the Baja Peninsula in Mexico. The Peninsula is about 1,000 miles long extending south from Southern California into the Pacific Ocean. Cabo San Lucas is at the tip of the peninsula and located in a natural bay. This bay shelters many of the beaches from the stronger ways usually associated with Pacific beaches.
The weather in Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo is mild and temperate. The average temperature in the summer months is in the 80s and sometimes low 90s. The winter months are slightly cooler. The water is also quite warm ranging from the 70s to the 80s in the summer.
As of the last census in 2005, Cabo San Lucas had a population of about 56,000. There are many hotels ranging from the high end to the middle of the road with plenty of restaurants, bars and shopping opportunities. There are many activities to interest the traveler including snorkeling, horseback riding, parasail, water activities, eco tours, and much more. Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo are quickly becoming a favorite destination for travelers from the use.
It is estimated that 95% ( maybe 100% now ) travel related business speak English and have all the brochures and menus written in English and Spanish. Most all the tourists are from the US with the majority from California. Even though the currency is the Peso, all places print prices and except the US Dollar.
